The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is a drive-through animal park. The center is dedicated to the rehabilitation of wild orphaned and injured animals. Rescued black and grizzly bears, lynx, caribou, moose, musk-oxen, bison, elk, Sitka black-tailed deer, and eagles are among the residents at the park.

Eagle River Nature Center has natural history displays and self-guiding nature trails. Guided nature hikes are offered in summer and there are nature programs scheduled year-round.
