The Valdez Museum and Historical Archive is one of three museums in the city. The museum features artifacts and stories from 1898 to present, including exhibits on the Exxon Valdez oil spill, the trans-Alaska oil pipeline, and the 1964 earthquake. The museum also has educational content about the regions Native peoples, the Ahtna, Alutiiq, and Eyak.
