A late evening drive along the scenic Hope Highway in summer.

The paved 17.8-mile Hope Highway leads from the Seward Highway to the historic community of Hope on the south side of Turnagain Arm and provides access to the Resurrection Creek area. This is a good two-lane road with a posted speed limit of 50-mph and some 35- to 40-mph curves. Hope makes a good 1- or 2-day trip from Anchorage.

There are a number of scenic highlights along this road: glimpses of Turnagain Arm; the picturesque town of Hope; the spectacular high country off Palmer Creek Road; and Resurrection Pass Trail.
