Chena Hot Springs Road leads 56 miles east of Fairbanks through Chena River State Recreation Area to Chena Hot Springs Resort.
Chena Hot Springs is the home of the Aurora Ice Museum and ice-carved appletini glasses (between 12,000 and 15,000 of these unique glasses are carved each year). There are many activities year-round. Chena Hot Springs Resort offers camping, lodging, indoor and outdoor hot springs pools, hydroponic gardens and advanced thermal energy innovations. (Bernie and Connie Karl, owners of the resort, host an annual renewable energy fair here that draws many visitors.) Wonderful flower displays in summer, internationally known aurora watching site in winter.
