The Alyeska Highway, off the Seward Highway, provides access to the historic Crow Creek Mine, Girdwood, hiking trails, and Alyeska Resort, Alaska’s largest ski area.
There are many restaurants, gift shops and accommodations in the Girdwood area. Major attractions include the Alyeska Aerial Tramway and rainforest hiking trails. Well worth the drive.
There is a bike trail along this highway connecting with the Bird to Gird trail (from Bird Creek) and extending to Hotel Alyeska.
