The Canadian government announced it will reopen its border to fully vaccinated American citizens and permanent residents starting August 9, 2021.
Americans will need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated, using one of the methods accepted in Canada, at least 14 days prior to entry. At the time of the announcement, Canada accepts vaccines manufactured by Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson. All travelers need to use the ArriveCAN app or web portal to submit information prior to crossing the border.
The country is still requiring travelers to take a COVID test within 72 hours of entering the country and show proof of a negative result.
The country plans to reopen its border to any fully vaccinated traveler on September 7.
