Description: A coastal brown bear (F), fondly known as "Scuba Sue," eats some salmon with her two cubs at Anan Creek in Alaska's Tongass National Forest. Scuba Sue got her name from using an unusual technique to catch salmon: fully submerging herself for up to two minutes underwater so she can snatch the fish that swim too close. None of the other black or brown bears in this area had yet adopted this method, but she will likely pass the behavior along to her cubs!
