Description: One of the many glaciers in the Alaska Range which stretches for 600 miles across Alaska. The Alaska Range has been a mirgration barrier with native rainbow trout and sockeye salmon only south of the range. Interior Alaska does not have herons, spruce bark beetle infestations, sitka black-tailed deer, and many other species due to the Alaska Range as a migration barrier. The Alaska Range also blocks some storms such that Fairbanks gets only 12 inches of precipitation a year.
